I never expected to have a a wedding in midlife, but we had a great one.
Our wedding was relatively small with a budget of just about $5,000 including the wedding attire for our family of seven and luncheon for our 80-person guest list. I felt like that was fabulous! Most of all, I wanted our wedding to be a celebration of hope, new beginnings and a come-back story. It was important for us to commit before our family and friends and to celebrate all that God brought from our individual devastations. We wanted our children to experience the importance of our vows and the launch of our combined families. Yes, we considered eloping, but we felt the ceremony was important. Our uncommon love was worth celebrating!
